The export was initiated by Nicu Crețu, the farmer, and began somewhat unexpectedly – reportedly starting as a joke. Crețu directly negotiated this first export deal, showcasing the quality of his farm’s produce. The delivery marks a new potential market for Romanian watermelons in the United Kingdom.
