The Social Democratic Party (PSD) has accused the Save Romania Union (USR) of deliberately delaying the formation of a new Romanian government. PSD alleges USR’s insistence on a “rotation” of power – a pre-agreed exchange of the prime minister’s position – is a tactic to continuously alter conditions and prevent a successful outcome. The PSD claims this rotating prime minister proposal is a manipulative strategy designed to sabotage the process. Despite these accusations, the PSD states it remains committed to good-faith negotiations to reach a political agreement on Romania’s fundamental strategic objectives. The party is urging USR to cease what it considers obstructive behavior and allow for the swift establishment of a functional government. The dispute centers on power-sharing arrangements within a potential governing coalition.
