Romania’s interim Minister of European Investments and Projects, Dragoş Pîslaru, has announced his decision to join the National Liberal Party (PNL). Pîslaru stated the move is motivated by a pressing need for deep administrative reform and stronger institutions within the country. He alleges the emergence of “anti-reform networks” actively working against necessary changes. The minister specifically cited aligning with Ilie Bolojan, a candidate for PNL vice-president, as part of this effort. Pîslaru believes joining the party will allow him to more effectively advocate for and implement these reforms. He emphasized the urgency of the situation, suggesting Romania requires swift action to modernize its administration. His decision reflects a perceived struggle between proponents of reform and those resisting change within the Romanian political landscape.
