Alexandru Zidaru, known as “Makaveli,” has had his tax evasion case dismissed after paying a financial penalty of over €100,000. The case involved allegations of tax evasion that led to his initial detention and subsequent placement under judicial control. Makaveli, a former advisor to Diana Șoșoacă and supporter of Călin Georgescu, announced the closure of the case himself. He stated that with the payment completed, he is no longer subject to monitoring – metaphorically stating he "no longer has a bracelet." The financial settlement appears to have been the key factor in the case being dropped by prosecutors. This outcome resolves the legal issues stemming from the initial tax evasion investigation.
