The Romanian Finance Ministry launched the ninth edition of its FIDELIS state bond program on Friday, September 4th. This offering, valid until September 11th, allows Romanian citizens aged 18 and over to invest in bonds denominated in both Romanian Lei and Euros. Investors can benefit from annual, tax-free interest rates reaching 7.5% for Lei-denominated bonds and 6.3% for Euro bonds. The FIDELIS program aims to encourage personal savings and provide a secure investment option for individuals. This new edition of FIDELIS, due in 2026, presents a potentially advantageous opportunity in the current financial climate. The bonds offer a fixed income stream and contribute to the national economy through direct investment.
