The Romanian United Aureus (AUR) party has announced it will not support the current Veștea government, nor any executive it is not a part of, according to a statement by the party’s first vice-president, Dan Dungaciu. Dungaciu indicated this stance stems from a desire to avoid disrupting a potential path towards anticipated elections. He stated the current political climate points towards an early election, and AUR does not wish to impede that process. The party, led by George Simion, is effectively signaling a lack of willingness to participate in a coalition government under the current leadership. This decision adds to the existing political instability within Romania. The announcement suggests AUR is positioning itself for a potential electoral contest rather than a governing role. Dungaciu’s comments were made during an appearance on Digi24 television.
