Romania will fail to complete the 132 kilometers of highway pledged under the PNRR by the established deadline. Current estimates suggest that only about 46 kilometers will be opened by August 31. Consequently, over 86 kilometers of planned roadwork will be finished late. Regarding the A7 highway, the outlook remains particularly challenging. Ionuț Ciurea, president of the Pro Infrastructure Association, stated that the most realistic scenario is for the road to reach Pașcani only by the summer of 2027. This represents a significant setback for the country's infrastructure goals. These delays highlight ongoing struggles in meeting European funding requirements.
