The Air Museum in Kunovice, located in the Uherské Hradiště District, has expanded its collection with a newly retired Mi-8 helicopter. This helicopter recently concluded its service transporting VIP passengers, including the President, Prime Minister, and generals, from the 24th Transport Aviation Base in Prague-Kbely. The Military Historical Institute (VHÚ) in Prague has loaned the aircraft to the museum. The addition occurred before the end of the summer holidays, bolstering the museum’s exhibits. The Mi-8 served as a key transport asset for high-ranking officials. Its display will offer visitors a look at the aircraft used for significant governmental travel. The Kunovice Air Museum is now home to this important piece of aviation history.
