Residents evacuated due to a landslide and flooding in Indre Nordnes, Kåfjord, are now permitted to return home, according to local emergency advisor Karin Karlsen. The evacuation was ordered early Wednesday morning following the landslide. While residents can return, the municipal road leading to the homes requires clearing, a process already underway. Earlier today, the E6 highway in Indre Nordnes was temporarily closed as traffic officials assessed conditions near the river outlet. The closure allowed for safety inspections following the unstable ground conditions. Authorities have deemed the area stable enough for residents to resume living in their homes, though cleanup efforts continue. No injuries were reported as a result of the landslide and subsequent flooding.
