Renowned mountaineer Nirmal Purja has been found dead following an avalanche on Broad Peak in the Karakoram mountain range. Purja, known for his record-breaking ascents of all 14 of the world’s “eight-thousanders,” went missing earlier this week after the avalanche struck. His body was recovered at the site, confirming the tragic news. Rescue teams also discovered the bodies of three other individuals at the location, bringing the total death toll to four. The recovery efforts were hampered by challenging weather conditions and the treacherous terrain.
