The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are reportedly preparing a new front in Ethiopia, while simultaneously launching attacks in Blue Nile State, Sudan. The RSF are also accused of carrying out “field executions” and fortifying positions in Al-Nuhud, South Kordofan. The process of accounting for detainees is hampered by issues surrounding the “Dagrees” prison. The Sudanese government has criticized the renewal of the mandate for the “Fact-Finding” commission. A commander from a special tasks force defected from the RSF, adding to the ongoing instability and fragmentation within the conflict. These developments mark an escalation in the ongoing power struggle within Sudan.
