Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in New Delhi to participate in the BRICS summit, according to Russian news agencies. BRICS is a collaborative forum comprising leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The group has recently expanded to include countries like Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, with several others – Belarus, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Vietnam – holding partner status. The BRICS summit is expected to focus on the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine. Putin is on a three-day visit and was welcomed by India’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian are also expected to attend the summit this weekend.
