Presidential advisor Eugen Tomac, initially proposed by Bucharest Mayor Nicuşor Dan to navigate the governmental situation, stated that Romania’s current political deadlock cannot continue. Tomac urged parties to move beyond entrenched positions and find a solution to the ongoing political crisis. He expressed belief that calling for early elections, as suggested by several political leaders, would only exacerbate the existing problems. Tomac cautioned against “adventures that could isolate Romania externally”, specifically referencing the potential inclusion of the AUR party in the governing coalition. He believes avoiding the AUR’s participation is crucial to maintaining Romania's international standing and stability. The advisor emphasized the need for responsible governance and a focus on resolving the current impasse.
