Porsche has introduced wireless charging technology for its electric vehicles, mirroring the convenience of wireless phone charging. Initially available for the Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Coupé Electric models, the system utilizes inductive charging. Porsche claims an efficiency rate of at least 90% for the wireless system. The charging power reaches 11 kilowatts, comparable to standard AC home charging with cables. This innovation aims to simplify the electric vehicle charging experience for owners. The technology represents a shift towards more user-friendly charging solutions in the EV market. Further rollout to other Porsche models is anticipated.
