Poland’s national tourism organization has released a second advertisement intended to promote Poland internationally. The campaign features locations such as Trójmiasto, along with national figures including Nicolaus Copernicus, Lech Wałęsa, and Robert Lewandowski, accompanied by the slogan “Poland. More than you expected.” However, esteemed linguist Professor Jerzy Bralczyk has expressed significant reservations regarding this promotional strategy. He questions the choices made in representing Poland, suggesting the selection of figures and locations may not effectively convey a cohesive or compelling national image. The criticism implies that the campaign fails to capture the multifaceted identity of Poland. The advertisement aims to change perceptions of Poland abroad, but Bralczyk’s analysis suggests it may fall short of its goal.
