Poland has officially designated godmothers for its newly acquired F-35 fighter jets. Paulina Kosiniak-Kamysz, wife of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, was chosen as one of the godmothers. The second godmother is Magdalena Boryc-Krakowian, the widow of Polish pilot Maciej “Slabie” Krakowian, who tragically died during preparations for the 2025 Radom Air Show. The selection of godmothers is a traditional practice intended to bestow good fortune and protection upon the aircraft. This ceremony marks a significant step in the modernization of the Polish armed forces. The F-35s represent a substantial investment in national security and enhanced air capabilities for Poland. The gesture also honors the memory of a fallen pilot and acknowledges the sacrifices made in service to the nation.
