State-owned utility PLN’s subsidiary, PLN Energi Primer Indonesia (PLN EPI), is initiating the development of a comprehensive green hydrogen ecosystem. This project aims to supply clean energy to both industrial and aviation sectors, supporting Indonesia’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions. The initiative encompasses the entire value chain, from hydrogen production using renewable sources to distribution and final utilization. PLN EPI is currently focusing on feasibility studies and pilot projects to determine the optimal technologies and infrastructure needed. Potential applications include powering industrial processes and fueling sustainable aviation. The project aligns with global efforts to transition towards cleaner energy sources and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, positioning Indonesia as a potential green hydrogen hub.
