The National Telecommunications Commission in the Philippines has issued show-cause orders to DITO Telecommunity, Globe Telecom, and Smart Communications regarding internet service quality. These orders stem from ongoing issues in identified areas within the Philippines. As a result, each telecommunications company is facing a daily fine of P100,000, beginning September 25th. The fines will continue to accrue daily until the identified service problems are resolved. The Commission is demanding an explanation from the telcos for the poor service. This action signals a stronger regulatory stance on internet quality in the Philippines. The move aims to compel the companies to improve their services and provide better connectivity to consumers.
