The Philippines’ economic trajectory will heavily depend on the results of the 2028 national elections, according to Secretary Arsenio Balisacan of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev). Speaking in Manila, Balisacan emphasized the importance of the next president’s choices for their Cabinet. He stated the need for appointees who possess genuine expertise in their respective fields, signaling a desire for continued professional governance. The DEPDev Secretary discussed this during a meeting with journalists and editors from the INQUIRER.
