The Philippine Army’s 10th Infantry Division has dispatched 395 soldiers to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to enhance security measures ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 14th. The deployment, which occurred on Sunday, involves personnel from the 67th Infantry Battalion and the 102nd Brigade. This move aims to ensure a safe and orderly electoral process in the region, considered a significant step in the ongoing peace process. Authorities recognize the historical importance of these elections for BARMM’s parliamentary system. Major Ruben Gadut, the division’s public affairs chief, confirmed the deployment’s purpose is to reinforce existing security arrangements.
