Peru’s Juntos por el Perú (JP) party has suspended its fundraising campaign aimed at legally challenging electoral results. Party treasurer Luzmila Ayay acknowledged she does not know the total amount collected for the effort to annul voting records, despite deadlines having passed. The fundraising goal of 3 million soles was not met, prompting the halt to solicitations. Ayay did not clarify whether contributions already received would be returned to donors. The initiative sought to challenge the validity of official election tallies, but the fundraising failure casts doubt on its continuation. The party’s lack of transparency regarding funds raised has also drawn scrutiny. This news was first reported by Lima Gris.
