Peru’s National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) has announced the completion of collecting all voting records from the presidential runoff election. The final records arrived from the remote border district of Yaquerana, finalizing the process. Collection efforts were hampered by challenging weather conditions across the country, necessitating the use of diverse transportation methods. These included small planes, boats, vehicles, and helicopters to reach isolated polling stations. The logistical operation faced delays due to these adverse conditions. ONPE officials confirmed all materials have now been secured for the official vote count. This concludes a critical phase in determining the outcome of the presidential election.
