A pedestrian, 43-year-old Soleman Dewan, was killed in a road accident in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area late Saturday night. He was struck by a covered van while crossing the road under the Shanir Akhra overbridge. Dewan, a father of three, was originally from Nayagaon, Munshiganj. According to his brother-in-law, Liton Bepari, Dewan had brought a patient to Dhaka for treatment. Tragically, he died on his way back to the hospital after receiving news of the patient’s death. The incident highlights the dangers faced by pedestrians in the city. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
