Algeria is currently grappling with wildfires of an unprecedented scale since the beginning of the summer. According to an official report released by the Ministry of the Interior on July 21, the fires have already claimed six lives. The situation grew significantly more critical yesterday in Séraidi, located in the highlands of Annaba. This particular region is heavily forested, making it highly susceptible to the spreading flames. Consequently, emergency measures were taken to evacuate residents from the affected areas. Among those evacuated were patients from local medical facilities to ensure their safety. Authorities continue to monitor the deteriorating conditions as firefighting efforts persist.
