After approximately 220 years, the western face of the Parthenon is fully visible following the completion of a major restoration project. Greek Culture Minister Lina Mendoni announced the removal of permanent scaffolding from the western façade on Thursday. The restoration focused on the western pediment of the ancient monument, a key element of its architectural integrity. This milestone marks a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to preserve the iconic world heritage site. The project involved the careful installation of large architectural stones to rebuild and reinforce the structure. The removal of the scaffolding allows for an unobstructed view of the restored western side, offering a glimpse of the Parthenon as it would have appeared centuries ago.
