Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched a new artificial intelligence-based investigation system, the first of its kind in the country. The system, developed through the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence (NCAI), aims to improve the investigation of white-collar crimes, financial offenses, and corruption. Officials state the platform will enhance the speed, accuracy, and effectiveness of investigations by providing investigators with data-driven insights. This initiative underscores Pakistan’s growing capacity for indigenous AI development while prioritizing data sovereignty and institutional control. The NAB anticipates the AI system will support evidence-based decision-making and strengthen accountability within the bureau. The project aligns with national goals to promote digital governance and leverage technology for public service.
