Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif voiced optimism that a recent US-Iran memorandum of understanding will evolve into a comprehensive, enduring agreement. This hope follows weekend talks in Switzerland, facilitated by Pakistan and Qatar, where both nations engaged in extended discussions. Pakistan actively worked to bridge the gap between the US and Iran, with negotiations spanning over a day and culminating in a joint statement. The upcoming 60 days will see technical discussions addressing Iran’s nuclear program, ballistic missiles, and frozen assets. Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s significant role in the process, noting extensive media coverage and a positive shift in international perception. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to visit Pakistan to further strengthen bilateral relations, with Sharif emphasizing the importance of unity. The Prime Minister expressed regret over the absence of the opposition leader during his address to the National Assembly.
