Pakistan has prolonged its ban on all Indian civilian and military aircraft within its airspace until July 24, 2026, as announced by the Pakistan Airports Authority on Wednesday. This extension follows a previous ban set to expire on June 24th and impacts both the Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions. The airspace closure initially occurred in late April 2025 following heightened tensions between the two countries after an attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir. Pakistan’s decision was a response to allegations – which it denies – made by India regarding its alleged support for the attack. The ban encompasses all India-registered or Indian-operated aircraft. This ongoing restriction represents a continuation of retaliatory measures taken during a period of significant military and political friction, including a reported aerial battle in May 2025.
