The ministry stated the voice in the clip was AI-generated and that Asif never made the attributed statements. The video gained traction on social media and was reported by Indian media outlets, prompting the ministry’s swift denial. Officials urged citizens to verify news from official sources before sharing it, emphasizing the spread of disinformation. The ministry confirmed this through both its main X account and its dedicated fact-checking account. This incident underscores growing concerns about the use of artificial intelligence in creating and disseminating false information.
