Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) is prioritizing cases involving the online harassment, blackmail, and exploitation of women. The agency announced Saturday the arrest of ten individuals across Punjab province for allegedly harassing women through digital platforms. NCCIA Punjab chief Muhammad Ali Waseem stated that these cases are receiving the highest priority due to the severe psychological and social harm inflicted on victims. Recovered evidence, including mobile phones and digital data, is undergoing forensic examination. Despite the increased focus, a significant number of complaints remain pending with the agency. The arrests occurred in Lahore, Multan, and Faisalabad, with charges ranging from online harassment to blackmail using sensitive content. The NCCIA aims to provide swift relief to victims and ensure perpetrators are brought to justice.
