Specifically, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Defence Minister Israel Katz proposed plans for the mass displacement of Gaza’s population, suggesting “voluntary emigration” and exploring all possible means of relocation. The joint statement from the foreign ministers denounced these remarks as violations of international law and a threat to Palestinian rights. They unequivocally rejected any attempts to displace Palestinians within or outside the occupied Palestinian territory. The nations warned of severe consequences should these calls for forced displacement be enacted as policy. The ministers emphasized that such actions undermine international peace efforts, referencing past initiatives like those led by President Donald Trump.
