Cocoa farmers in Kampung Werianggi, Teluk Wondama Regency, are exploring business development opportunities through a partnership with the Ebier Suth Cokran Producer Cooperative in Ransiki, Manokwari Selatan Regency. This collaboration, facilitated by Universitas Indonesia’s TEP (Teknologi, Ekonomi, dan Pemberdayaan/Technology, Economy, and Empowerment) program, aims to establish a sustainable cocoa supply chain. The partnership seeks to improve the livelihoods of cocoa farmers in West Papua by connecting them directly with a cooperative for potential market access. It represents a new hope for cocoa cultivation in the region, building upon existing traditions. The initiative focuses on fostering a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship between producers and processors. This development could significantly revitalize the cocoa industry in Kampung Werianggi and Manokwari Selatan Regency.
