The leather jacket worn by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang sold for $960,000 at a New York auction Friday, significantly exceeding its initial estimate of $60,000. The jacket, designed by Tom Ford, attracted bidding from 45 collectors, according to Sotheby’s. Huang’s signature leather jacket has become synonymous with his public appearances, much like Steve Jobs’s black turtleneck or Mark Zuckerberg’s grey t-shirt. The jacket even appeared on the cover of a 2021 Time magazine issue featuring Huang. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Edge Institute, a non-profit organization focused on promoting English language education and Western business models. Nvidia, a leader in artificial intelligence chips, has seen soaring demand for its products, making it one of the world's most valuable companies.
