Aidah Nabayiga of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has won the Kalangala District Woman MP by-election in Uganda. The Electoral Commission declared her the winner early Thursday morning, citing a total of 12,642 votes received. Her primary opponent, Irene Nampala from the National Unity Platform (NUP), was defeated in the race to fill the vacant parliamentary seat.
