Negotiations between the Parat union and the Virke employers’ organization regarding the Wholesale Agreement have entered overtime mediation with Norway’s national mediator. The initial deadline of midnight passed without a resolution, but talks are continuing. Parat is negotiating jointly with the Norwegian Union of Professional Drivers (Yrkestrafikkforbundet) under the YS confederation umbrella. The agreement covers employees in warehousing, goods distribution, and transport companies affiliated with Virke. Failure to reach an agreement could result in a strike involving approximately 4,000 workers. The core of the dispute remains undisclosed, but centers around terms of employment for wholesale and distribution sector employees. Further updates are expected as mediation progresses.
