A further 21 train conductors will begin striking on Monday, according to Rolf Ringdal, leader of the Norwegian Locomotive Engineers' Union (NLF). This escalation adds to the existing strike, which began on September 18th with 46 locomotive engineers already off the job. The industrial action is causing significant delays across much of Østlandet. The new strike measures will particularly affect train services in Kongsvinger. Spekter’s Communications Director, Tonje Sagstuen, has expressed surprise and deemed the continued strike irresponsible, emphasizing the union's demands exceed agreed wage settlement frameworks. The dispute centers on demands beyond those typically negotiated within established wage parameters. Negotiations are ongoing to resolve the situation and minimize disruption to rail travel.
