A planned strike at Norwegian offshore supply bases has been averted after unions Offshore Norge and Forbundet Styrke reached a new wage agreement early Thursday morning. The deal was finalized just over an hour past the deadline following challenging negotiations. The agreement includes a general wage increase of 6.50 Norwegian kroner per hour, effective June 1st, mirroring the outcome of broader industry settlements. A key demand from Forbundet Styrke – that all companies covered by the land base agreement pre-fund sick pay, parental leave, and care leave – was also met. Both negotiating leaders expressed satisfaction with the outcome, highlighting the positive development of the land base agreement. The agreement ensures continued operations at crucial supply bases supporting the offshore oil and gas industry.
