A social media puzzle surrounding the uniquely-shaped “The Twist” building in Jevnaker, Norway, has concluded, revealing it as an extension of the Kistefos Museum. The building, designed by BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group, has garnered international attention for its striking, sculptural form that appears to twist horizontally above the Randselva river. The museum initially launched an online campaign asking the public to identify the institution to which it belonged, generating significant engagement. Kistefos Museum confirmed its ownership, stating the structure houses a contemporary art gallery. “The Twist” effectively bridges the northern and southern parts of the Kistefos sculpture park, offering a new pathway for visitors. The building opened to the public in September 2019 and has quickly become a prominent architectural and cultural attraction in the region.
