Norway’s Labour Party (Ap) will convene a meeting with the Socialist Left (SV), Centre Party (Sp), Red Party (Rødt), and Green Party (MDG) on Thursday to discuss the situation in the Middle East and its impact on energy markets, particularly fuel prices. The meeting, scheduled for noon, follows an agreement reached during revisions to the national budget. Tuva Moflag, leader of the finance committee, stated the meeting is a follow-up to that accord. This comes after the Centre Party temporarily broke with its left-leaning allies to cut fuel taxes, before re-entering a budget agreement raising taxes again from September 1st. The discussions will likely centre on navigating the complexities of fluctuating fuel costs amidst ongoing geopolitical instability. The aim is to reaffirm commitments made within the recent budget agreement.
