Norway’s Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB) led a national-level crisis meeting following significant issues with Telenor’s mobile network. The DSB stated the problems caused serious societal consequences, prompting the gathering of key emergency responders on Thursday evening. According to DSB’s Elisabeth Longva, the mobile network is a critical part of Norway’s infrastructure, and the scale of the disruption necessitated a coordinated response. Participants in the meeting included representatives from Bane Nor, Avinor, Statens vegvesen, the National Police Directorate, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, the Directorate of Health, and state governors. The importance of Nødnett (emergency network) was particularly emphasized during serious incidents. The DSB coordinated the response to mitigate the impact of the Telenor network failure across Norway.
