The “Nomad” World Culture Festival is underway at the foot of Mount Taij in the Nalaikh district of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, aiming to preserve and promote the nation’s intangible cultural heritage. The festival highlights the diverse expressions of Mongolia’s nomadic culture and honors its practitioners. Forty-five inheritors from nine districts of the capital city are participating, representing seven categories of intangible heritage. These include oral traditions, traditional arts, festivals, customs, knowledge of nature, traditional craftsmanship, and animal husbandry. The festival is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Cultural Department, the City Administration, and the Nalaikh district administration. Organizers invite citizens and tourists to attend from August 21-23, 2026, to experience Mongolia’s rich cultural traditions.
