A new book, "Joutsenlaulu" (Swan Song), details the intense power struggle between Jussi Hakulinen and Olli Lindholm within the Finnish band Yö. The book reveals a long-standing battle for leadership between the two Pori-based rock musicians, with Lindholm being perceived as a natural leader and Hakulinen as the band’s artistic director and songwriter. This internal conflict began early in the band’s career, around the 1984 album "Nuorallatanssija" (Tightrope Walker). The tension escalated to the point of Hakulinen being bullied. The power dynamic ultimately fractured the band and continued to affect both men until their deaths. The book chronicles how this rivalry tore Yö apart and details the lasting impact of their strained relationship.
