The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has introduced a Health Security Scorecard aimed at assessing and enhancing states' readiness for disease outbreaks and public health emergencies. This initiative will monitor state-level preparedness across various indicators. The scorecard is intended to provide a consistent framework for evaluating and improving health security nationwide. It allows for tracking progress and identifying areas needing more investment and attention. NGF anticipates the tool will foster healthy competition amongst states, encouraging improvements in public health infrastructure and response capabilities. Ultimately, the goal is to strengthen Nigeria’s overall capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to public health threats. It represents a significant step towards bolstering national health security.
