A new cohort of building inspectors has entered South Africa’s construction sector, aiming to improve safety and regulatory compliance. The Institute of Building Inspectors presented the graduates on June 11th. These inspectors are expected to strengthen the capacity of municipal authorities, particularly within Gauteng province. The initiative seeks to ensure construction projects adhere to safety standards and building regulations more effectively. Better compliance is anticipated to reduce risks associated with substandard construction practices. This development addresses a need for increased oversight in a rapidly developing region. The program aims to foster safer and more reliable building environments for residents.
