The Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) has finished building the Engaresero Airstrip in the Ngorongoro District, Arusha Region. This project is intended to improve access to Lake Natron, a renowned and ecologically significant destination in Tanzania. TAWA’s Commanding Officer, Prosper Kihunrwa, announced the completion during a recent national conference. The new airstrip is expected to significantly boost tourism to the area, making it easier for visitors to reach the lake. Lake Natron is known for its unique landscape and large flamingo populations, attracting nature enthusiasts and photographers. The investment reflects a commitment to developing Tanzania’s tourism infrastructure and promoting lesser-known attractions. This development is poised to contribute to economic growth in the region.
