This decision follows similar considerations by other broadcasters and mounting pressure from artists and audiences. The Netherlands previously won Eurovision in 1974 and hosted the event in 1980. The EBU maintains its commitment to remaining a non-political event and upholding its member broadcasters’ participation rights.
