The Netherlands has announced a new €500 million military aid package for Ukraine, revealed by Defense Minister Yesilgöz during a visit from her Ukrainian counterpart, Fedorov. Half of the funding, €250 million, will be used to purchase drones from the Dutch defense industry. The remaining €250 million will be allocated to American weaponry, including Patriot missiles intended for use with F-16 fighter jets. This aid stems from existing funds reserved for Ukrainian military support, following a ten-year security agreement signed with Kyiv in 2024. To date, the Netherlands has provided approximately €12 billion in military assistance to Ukraine. Drones, including aerial, land, and maritime varieties, are considered crucial on the Ukrainian battlefield, with the Netherlands already investing around €500 million in Ukrainian drone production.
