Since 2023, Nepal has experienced significant political turnover within its provincial governments, with over half of provincial lawmakers having served as ministers. This rapid rotation of ministers has created substantial instability, negatively impacting essential services and infrastructure development across Nepal. The constant changes are diverting focus from long-term planning and contributing to a lack of continuity in key positions. Consequently, hospitals in Nepal are facing critical shortages of necessary medicines, hindering healthcare provision for citizens. Furthermore, ongoing development projects throughout Nepal are stalling and deteriorating as a result of this political volatility and shifting priorities. The situation raises concerns about the effectiveness of provincial governance and the sustainable delivery of vital public services in Nepal. This cycle of ministerial changes is proving detrimental to the country’s progress.
