A recent report, “E-Transparency Index 2025,” released by the IRIM research institute, assessed the transparency of 98 Mongolian government organizations. The National Statistics Office ranked first, followed by the Tax Administration, due to strong performance in access to information, data usability, and overall score. The index evaluates government agencies on their online information accessibility, completeness, standardization, and fulfillment of citizens’ right to information. Organizations like the Water Authority, the National Gender Equality Committee, and the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Agency received the lowest rankings. The index aims to provide data-driven insights for improvement and is based on research from the OECD and the World Bank, which highlight e-transparency’s role in accountable governance and combating corruption. Increased transparency empowers citizens to participate more effectively in policy-making and improves public service delivery.
