Portugal’s national high school exams commenced today with the Portuguese language test, the first of several assessments for approximately 166,000 enrolled students. Over 81,000 students are taking the Portuguese exam in this initial phase. While students still complete the test on paper, a significant change this year is the implementation of digital scoring for the first time. This marks a shift towards modernization in the evaluation process for these crucial exams. The remaining exams will follow, assessing students’ knowledge across various subjects. Authorities anticipate a smooth transition with the new digital scoring system. The exams are a key component of university entrance requirements in Portugal.
